The mixture is actually poured in a cup of boiling water to make the drink. Taking this drink frequently will definitely heal the cold sores with a day or two.

Apart from these basic and some of the most important home remedies for cold sores, there are a few others as well. Lemon balm extract and spirit of camphor are supposed to offer good relief from cold sores. Witch hazel is yet another natural product that helps to get rid of cold sores.
